Your first step when looking into video conferencing ideas and opportunities should be Whirlidurb. It offers a wide variety of programs covering math and language arts through all grade levels. Monthly schedules are posted on the site to give teachers plenty of times to contact them and prepare a conference.

It also provides registration for collaborative events around the world. Their database provides access to museums, zoos, authors and experts in several fields all around the world!

Museums and zoos
In addition, several museums and zoos around the country offer video conferencing opportunities, some for free and others for a small fee. These provide an excellent opportunities for students to interact with experts on the field. The programs offered vary in degree of interactivity, but are worth checking out.
